Heidi T. Cochrane, Esq.

Columbia County divorce, family law, and real estate attorney and mediator Heidi Cochrane began her solo career in 2007.  She practiced throughout New York State at both the state and federal level and has served as both the Columbia County and Greene County Assistant County Attorney.  Since then, she has represented clients throughout the Hudson Valley, Capital District, Catskills, Long Island, and greater NYC area in diverse areas of the law, including matrimonial actions, family court, civil litigation, criminal defense, and real estate.  She is trained in alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and collaborative law. 

Heidi Cochrane is admitted to  practice in trial-level courts in New York State and Massachusetts, as well as in federal court (the Northern District of New York).  A published author in scholarly legal journals and creative writing publications, she obtained her juris doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University, where she also was a teaching assistant, served as a research assistant in the field of Educational Psychology while earning her Doctorate at SUNY-Albany, obtained a Master's degree in Secondary Education from The College of Saint Rose, and received her Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Smith College.  

Currently, she resides in Columbia County, New York with her husband, their three children, and numerous rescued domestic and farm animals.
